Quest for a good restaurant; cats, IIDX, etc.

Today: work. I ate really spicy food at lunch and my belly was making gurgling noises all afternoon. It was especially funny during our team meeting. But I couldn't do much about it. I did some especially 'leet Mason/Perl hacking today though, that I feel pretty good about. I was running late leaving, and then ran into [personal profile] pauldf on the way out, so we rode the bus home together and then he came back to my house, where we found Eli and then went out for dinner at a Japanese restaurant Eli wanted to try called Chiso (3520 Fremont). It really sucked, to me. It was one of those "expensive yuppie" Japanese restaurants that you go to to socialize, not eat good Japanese food. So the food was pretty lousy overall. Oh well. Afterwards, we went back to Paul's condo, since he lives two blocks from us, and we got to play with the cat he's cat-sitting for. It's a very nice cat, reminded me of [profile] mrpeck's cat Sinbad. Cats put me in a better mood, of course. Came home, played some IIDX. Now I can pass FIVE songs in 4th style! I added Sanctus and Higher. Go me. At any rate, tomorrow night in theory I'll be swapping 4th for 5th with Farren for a week or two, and then maybe I can play beginner mode and stop sucking so much.

Thanks for all the sympathy earlier. It makes me feel better and reminds me that I do have lots of awesome friends... bleah, I sometimes forget that you can't just make friends overnight (even though I swear it sure felt like I could at CMU. Maybe time is just passing faster or slower or something for me now). I'm really, really looking forward to the CTF/Scattershow/etc trip though.

I just sat here for like half an hour trying to cut down 160 minutes of music to 90 for a mix tape; specifically a Japanese female vocalist mix tape to play in the car tomorrow and so on. I need more 120 minute tapes.

someday i will replace all that fabulous music with digital versions, but until then,
