mostly DDR babble
Today, work. Not much to say. Dan hardcoded it so if I pick Dilbert as my theme, I don't get any characters except Tina the Technical Writer. To that I replied, "Hey Dan, I have some perl I wrote for a Mason component for you to code review, ok?"
Anyway, I went to IZ tonight... was a bit later than I wanted to be because I talked to Hemant for a while about CMU alumni get-togethers and stuff, and then ran out for some pad thai so I could eat before DDRing, and then went home, then drove out, etc. Got there around 7:30 I guess.
There weren't many people. Unfortunately, the GF/DM machines were on 100 credits per play, and KBM wasn't taking IZ cards at all. Doh. Still, it wasn't hard to get turns on the DDR MAX2 machines. Lessee... interesting stuff. Well, Shiguma gave me a CD of PPP stuff. It's only got a few songs, and three videos, but they're cool. It was nice of him to make it for me. Hmm.. Torgo Jeremy was there again, and I talked to him for a while... I was screwed up in line so I made him play a set with me. We did (all on Heavy) Ever Snow, Secret Rendezvous, and Absolute. It was funny because he picked SR because we'd been discussing BHH, and he said it's a good song for learning those weird off-beat sequences. Well, he was right. I didn't do so well at it. :) He picked Absolute for fun as the last song, and I slowed down to 1x... and missed 2 arrows. Dammit! But I beat him at PA (I've got Absolute at like 70% perfect now, which I know isn't great, but..). Anyway, so he ran off for a minute or two and there was no line at the machine so I put in another credit and thought I'd try the Naoki Standard Oni just for the heck of failing DR. And what happened? I GOT ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO BURNIN' THE FLOOR! Seriously! I had a big-ass combo and everything! It was really neat. I was so surprised... after getting through B4U I was just like "Oh fuck, Burnin' the Floor?" and failed halfway through. No stamina for Deanna. But lots of combo. :) Since when can I FC Dynamite Rave Standard? Wowie. I also got through Nearly 130 to halfway through Higher as my last set of the night. It ruled. I got an extra stage on Drummania and actually decided to try to play it, but failed. It was really fun anyway. Lessee, I did a little PPP and some shadowing, too. I think I've got most of Easy Busy and Sexy Sexy Sexy down now, and since Shiguma gave me the Mikado video I should learn that one soon too.
Went to Krispy Kreme with Farren and Joe again. Played Can't Stop, and won... silly dice. Ate lots of donuts. Brought back some for Eli. Yay for the donuts!
Came home. The DSL hates me. I think I might have a decent idea for an FS routine for this Saturday's tournament. Oh god... I am SO doomed.

Do you still need some of the PP vids? I've got a bunch online somewhere and can upload or burn you more if you need.

Yeah, I do. Basically, I need to learn the routines for a bunch of 2nd mix songs that aren't on the home version... the list derick posted (with a * next to ones I have the video for, and a & for ones I know) was:
jam jam jam
ultra high heels
number one
popteen
*sexy sexy sexy
*mikado
take me now
kiss kiss kiss
easy busy
deja vu
*&speedway
*&night of fire
*my sweet banana
*&o sole mio
*bandolero comanchero
*&yesterday
*you can light my fire
*made of fire
*&deluxe
*&boom boom fire
I kinda know Bandolero Comanchero... basically, the only part I don't know is the middle thingy. And I guess I "know" Easy Busy insofar as I can follow the "Illusionz Easy Busy Line Dance". So if you can help with any of the ones I don't have stars for, or if you have better versions than the PS2 videos for some of the others that I haven't learned, that would be great...
