GURPS, South Central Nowhere, cleaning, etc.
Today I woke up earlyish and went down to Covington to try out GURPS with Joe and Ryan and their GURPS group. Driving there does take like 55 minutes. Suck. The other player, Jeremy, was late, so I sat around and tried to make up a character, with "help" from the others (really from Joe; the GM, Travis, was little to no help). Really, I don't like GURPS character creation... I'm always more of a "get the numbers on paper and THEN come up with the character" rather than coming up with all of their quirks and stuff off the top. Why can't I just be an elven archer and be done with it? At any rate, I didn't finish a character, and I watched them roleplay for an hour or so. Then I left. I'm not sure whether I'll go back. Next Saturday is a DDR tournament in Tacoma that I'd rather go to, at least, so I can put off deciding for another week.
I went to Philly's Best. I asked for a cheesesteak with pizza sauce on it. They put cold pizza sauce on it. YUCK. It was actually a pretty lousy sandwich; lots of gristle and stuff in the steak, too.
I went to IKEA. They are having some sort of "anniversary" sale, and so there's no sales tax on stuff. There was like, live musicians, and lots of other stuff, and so half of Seattle was there, especially since it was so yucky out weather-wise today. It was pretty hellish parking, and then I didn't even really find anything I wanted there, which was even more disappointing. I think they've discontinued a few of the things I want to get, actually (like more Observator bookshelf inserts). Yargh. So after 40 minutes at IKEA I left without buying ANYTHING. I think that is a first for me.
Drove home. Moved around some CDs so that most of them now fit in my towers. Sorted my Japanese ones (but not my American ones). Cleaned up more, unpacked some more boxes, etc. Went to Central Market and bought a TON of snacks and candy and hard lemonade and all, so DAMMIT, EVERYONE COME TO MY HOUSEWARMING PARTY TOMORROW! Otherwise I'll be stuck with all of these drinks and snacks :( Really, I don't know how long it'll go on, but I have no plan except to hang out here tomorrow all day and play games and stuff... so don't think "oh, I can't make it at 2 so I'm not going to go."
I spent most of the evening basically doing house stuff. Picked Eli up from a concert he went to in Cap Hill. I'm pretty proud of myself for not getting lost going anywhere today, considering how much driving I did. Very exciting.
Also, I can't get DCT's song "asa ga mata kuru" out of my head to save my life. Whee.

IKEA...
Going to IKEA late on a weekday night (say, 45 minutes before closing) is totally awesome. The place is almost peaceful. Show up a little earlier than that if you want to get something that isn't a self serve item though.
