I use the UW Physician Family Practice Clinic (Dr. Sharon Doby in particular). This clinic is the foremost family practice clinic in the US, and conveniently located a few blocks from my office. My friend Colleen (the nurse) recommended them to me.
I have been extremely happy with all aspects of this clinic. I am pretty picky about doctors, but am happy to have found one that i respect, trust, and like. I even pay for the better insurance in order to keep going to those doctors.
Josh also uses a doctor at that clinic, and has been happy with that doctor.
One good side effect is that you will be in the system for UWMC. The UWMC is considered to be an excellent medical center, and i feel safe knowing that we will use them for our needs.
For the record, it is not unusual for things like a big move (say, across the country) to screw with things like your menstrual cycle. Mine got messed up for about the first four months i was here, and i was one the pill. My doctor assured me it was normal, and just due to the variation in my life style.
hmm, maybe when i get home i can ask you for some phone numbers and stuff and schedule appointments or whatever.
it's not things screwed up. it's more like residual health issues that i have had for a while, that i sort of would like to get checked out, but didn't because i had no health insurance for six months. my mom forwarded a random email that usually i wouldn't think anything of but it reminded me that i could wind up with some serious problems if i don't do anything about stuff. i'll tell you more later.
