Help me, Obi-Wakka Kimahri. You're my only hope!
Last night after work I went to the Seattle Center to play DDR 5th mix. The only other people there playing were these two guys, I'd say they were around 19-20 yrs old. One was a maniac player and he kept playing 9-footers. He had sort of in-between short and long hair and he kept it under a baseball cap and it kept flying all over the place when he'd get into some of the songs. His friend looked like a sort of CS major, in that he had short hair and glasses and wore a t-shirt from some random tech company. He played Basic songs and could barely pass a 4-footer. They were sort of weird to watch together. Anyway, I suck. I really really suck. But I did have a lot of fun playing Matsuri Japan Double Basic, which if you spin around on is almost worse than Think Ya Better D Double Basic, in terms of falling over. My ratios on CSFIL Speed and Insertion are still godawful (like 70% perfects). I'm pretty sure I'll get my ass kicked at the tourney this weekend. But I already paid the registration fee, so I might as well go. Maybe I can get to a 7th mix machine tonight to practice a little... though I have soooooo much house stuff to do, too.
I ended up with like 20 mins to spare before the next bus and I was starving, so I ate McDonald's food at the bus stop and then got the bus to M+J's house. On the bus I was trying to remember as many US Presidents as possible. I think I was able to get like 75% of them. here's a list of them on the white house's site. By next Tuesday's trivia game I should hopefully actually remember all of the presidents, rather than just the ones that have been shot. :) Damn you, Sondheim!
When I got home, Josh and his friend (HP?) were playing Go. They finished shortly after, and then were going to play videogames but I asked if they'd feel like a boardgame. We played Seafarers of Catan. I won, but it was sort of a long hard battle for it, and Josh came damned close. After that I did some laundry and played FFX. I had the WORST time of it... first it took me three tries to beat that gatling gun Al Bhed machina thingy, and then I spent three tries trying to beat Anima and Seymour, and the first time Anima killed me and the second two times Seymour killed me after I killed Anima. Gaaaah! I hate Seymour even more now. He sucks so much. I think I'll go consult gamefaqs on how the fuck to win this battle, since I don't feel like spending hours on it.
Megan painted her cabinets so they look like Legos now. Also, Megan and Josh have a nice big huge new laundry machine. And now I have clean socks, too, so I am happy.

I learned all the presidential trivia I know in junior high by playing Mr. Presidents during Academic Games. The moderator would give a range of presidents (say, 22-32), and then read three clues about the president. A correct guess after the first clue was worth 3 points, the second 2, and the third 1. The teams from Slippery Rock always kicked ass at the local competition.
