a quick note
What I have learned this week of lunches:
1) Uwajimaya rocks.
2) Cold eel sushi sucks.
3) Getting sushi at Uwajimaya every day is really fun, but I can't afford to keep doing it.
4) Red bean bread is usually good, but the stuff they have is not so good. Or at least the one I tried.
5) The egg rolls and shumai are cheap and yummy, but they don't stay hot very long after being removed from the heater thingy.
6) Getting sushi shortly after noon is ideal for it to be fresh and to get the best selection of it.
7) most of the hot dishes are fast but not so great.
I think next week I am going to start trying to spend $7 or less for lunch every day. I've been spending close to twice that because I keep trying all the varieties of sushi and stuff.

My friend and I generally don't go anywhere where lunch is more than around $5.50 + drink/tax/tip (we get water if we go out somewhere to eat). It is really frustrating though cause often I get hungry throughout the day and spend more on snacks etc...
Blahblah... just agreeing that lunch cost is an interesting issue, I think I rationalize it as being one of the more enjoyable times of day for me too and that there are some great restaurants near where I work (duh, its nyc) and it is worth it :D
