i am posting from my computer with its new hard drive!

the short version: today I went shopping with [profile] dvarin and we got camping supplies for this weekend and we got me a new hard drive (it's a Maxtor 40GB if anyone wants to comment about Maxtor). after that I had a big DDR party and a lot of awesome people came to it and it was great and I hope everyone had a good time even though I do admit that next time I should just run DDR on two TVs instead of DDR on one and another game on another. at the end of the party, [profile] nickjong and [profile] dvarin helped me put the new hard drive in my computer. my old drive turns out to be a Seagate, which [personal profile] eub says is cursed. Yeah. Anyway, so Windows 2000 installed just fine on the new drive, and I just installed drivers for the video card and all, and except for lacking all my data and applications, I'm pretty happy.

As an aside, I am feeling much better about my showering soaping habits, as it seems that I do follow the most popular method and showering times. I'm sorry that I didn't quite cover all of the different methods, but I was sort of curious about it all, since sometimes I wonder if there's a better way to do it than just rub a bar of soap all over oneself. Lots of interesting input there... I'll reply more to it all tomorrow or later. thanks for the input though :)

later: i got it to recognize my old hard drive, but it doesn't see any data. i wish i could figure out what the fuck reinstalling windows did to it...

They all fail, but I wouldn't say that they all suck ass. I've had one of the lowest failure rates with Maxtor. Far lower than IBM, anyhow. At this point I buy all Maxtor drives when a big-ass drive is all I care about. However, I'm tempted to get one of those new ultra-quiet seagates for my home machine...
