weekend
Trying not to think about work has kinda sorta worked but not entirely.
Friday I got back to Seattle just in time for Puzzle Hunt meeting. It's so weird to think that WE ARE DOING PUZZLEHUNT IN ONE MONTH. Mike and I got Red Robin afterwards, and watched Mallrats (it was hard to believe he hadn't seen it).
Saturday we slept late and went over to Ryan and Michelle's place in the afternoon for their housewarming party of sorts. They live about a mile and a half from here so we walked over. Michelle cooked tapas-style food, so there was that, and a whole bunch of people playing that fruit game on the Kinect. We walked home probably around 7 or 8pm.
I watched the Sanko vs. Kaisei game... it was nailbiting at times, and Kaisei did even take the lead on Sanko at one point but then Yokoo finally remembered that he's supposed to be an awesome batter. Yoshinaga did get the complete-game win, 11-8, and Suganuma and Takayama were also great. I'm sad that the Azegami team will come to an end soon no matter what, but I guess that's high school ball for you. Kaisei had a whole bunch of huge guys, notably pitcher Shirane who was supposedly 186/95 or something like that, and pitcher/1B Mori who's also 188/90. Geez.
Slept a long time in today too... Mike and I got a late lunch at the Sammammish Cafe, and then headed to Ballard to get Carl and Oren and go to Rock Box. We did karaoke for like 3 hours, and it was fun except that OMG my throat hurt, more than usual. Which sucked. Also their wireless went down, so all the iPads didn't work and we had to use the damn number pad to enter songs, which is a pain in the ass. Whatever. I can't wait to get back to Japan and work on my karaoke-fu again!
After karaoke, Carl and Mike and I went to Chinook's for dinner. We made Mike get cake because today was actually Mike's birthday (we didn't really make a big deal out of it, maybe my fault?)
I gotta get up in 5 hours and fly back to SFO so I can have a hell week at work. Hooray. Hopefully I'll get a few good distractions in some of the evenings, anyway.
