few days catchup

Hm, I've not been updating, I suppose. It's not that I'm not doing stuff, it's more that I've been playing with my iPhone too much :)

Thursday I went to Ballard... by way of Lynnwood, where I first went to Funtasia to use their batting cages for a while, I just hadn't done that in a few months. Their machine was having trouble so I got an extra round to play... so about 100-ish swings total?

Met Carl at ToI, where we split stuff for lunch and still ended up completely stuffed somehow, between a meal, naan, samosas, too much chai, and whatever the dessert was.

Then to Ballard, where I dropped off a bunch of stuff at Goodwill both from my stuff in Sammamish and my stuff in Ballard. Carl and I decided to take a walk, and the skies decided to start dripping, but we didn't let that stop us, and walked around the Locks anyway, before stopping off at Cupcake Royale for their "happy hour" where you can get 6 cupcakes for the price of 3. We stayed there to get coffee and chat for a little while and next thing you knew it was 8:30pm and it was dark and Mike called me. Oops. So I grabbed some boxes of my stuff from the Ballard house and brought them back to Sammamish via picking Mike up from work on the way. Whee.

Boy do I have a lot of crap. At least I took out a few things from the boxes with the idea to give to Goodwill or to Mike or to wherever.

And Friday, after grabbing lunch and some stuff from Fred Meyer, I ended up spending a while in the daytime just cleaning my room, since it had kinda turned into a disaster area over the last week. I'm now fully unpacked from Japan and have managed to figure out some places to put a lot of my stuff, though certainly not everything. I really need to get rid of more stuff. The only downside of the day is that it was really nice outside but I spent so much time inside instead.

We had PH meeting in the evening and then Mike and I went to Ooba's for dinner. I crashed when I got home at 10pm... got up at 1:30am and couldn't get back to sleep! So I stayed up from like 2-6am watching the Fighters-Eagles game in Kobe, emailing with a few Fighters fans over there. Bleh. The good part is that I'm using my dad's Mini-HP as a media device basically... it's the perfect size to stream justin.tv on and watch while I'm using my normal laptop as a normal machine.

With my sleep schedule all messed up I woke up around noon today. Mike built me the hutch for my desk that we bought ages ago, and it's neat! I can put some stuff on top of the desk now and whatnot.

We went to Megan and Josh's house for a baby-welcoming party for friends of ours, only due to circumstances (the babies were actually born quite premature) we saw the parents and not their actual babies. I was joking, however, that it was a BYOB (the latter B being for "Baby") party, as just about everyone ELSE there had brought their own small children. Having not seen a lot of people in that circle for a very long time, nor their children, it was odd seeing kids that I'd last seen as newborns or a year old as fully mobile fully speaking kids who were exact images of their parents, running around and playing with each other. (Or in some cases, completely new kids that hadn't existed last time I lived in the US.)

But yeah, it was good to hang out and catch up with people, devour a huge chocolate bunny rabbit with people, etc. I snuck upstairs to play with Sampson and Grace, the dogs who weren't supposed to be downstairs during the main party. They're so cute! I'm envious of non-stupid pets.

Afterwards, we headed down to IKEA and got some bookshelves so I can get more things to not be in boxes or on the floor, though we didn't build them yet. It'd be really neat if I could get all of my stuff together and it all fit in this one little room here. Getting rid of stuff is hard though :(
