I'm zonked so writing an entry is hard.
Woke up super-early, got to Koshien before tickets went on sale at 8am this time. So, I was in the front row for the Nichidai Sanko game, behind their dugout... only to find I'd picked the seat where the manager stands up and gets in your way for the entire game for taking photos. However, the 2 seats to my right were taken up by a photographer guy who kept disappearing and was cool with me taking his seat while he was gone, so I did that a lot. The left were two boys from Tonan HS's baseball club. They were... baseball players. I don't mean it in a good or bad way, really.
The game was super-close and Sanko won! I thought my Yoshinaga-kun would get taken out for sure but he ended up lasting the entire game. Suzuki, the catcher, suffered a ball to the face at one point and apparently had to go to the hospital after the game for stitches and maybe some dental work, yikes.
I stayed until noon pretty much -- about 1 inning of the 2nd game -- and then left for Naruohama Stadium, the Tigers minor-league field, where they had a game with the minor-league Buffaloes. I originally thought I'd walk or bus over but I had very little time before the 12:30 game so I took a taxi for like 1400 yen!!!! Still, it turned out the game was free so it worked out ok.
I even got a seat. But it was COLD AND WINDY. I had come to see Taiki Mitsumata play hopefully and all I got to see was him playing shortstop for an inning, he got pinch-hit for when it was his turn to bat :( Oh well. It was too cold to hang out afterwards hoping for autographs too. The game went 10 innings and ended in a 3-3 tie.
I took a bus back to Koshien station and then a train back here, I got lost for a little while as usual and then found my way.
Spent an hour or two wandering Osaka -- went to the Osaka Dome shop, then to the Dotonbori area, where I ended up eating dinner at a random ramen stand. I figured, hey, these things can turn out to be really good sometimes, right? Well, not in this case, whoops. I felt even worse because a bit later I found an underground shopping mall with LOTS of yummy-looking restaurants :( Oops.
Then I came back here to the hotel and did laundry and have been zoning in and out, so I'm gonna go back to sleep now and hopefully get my act together in the morning to check out and go to Koshien. Too tired to now.
