dim sum and stuff

Last night after work I went to Ikebukuro and met up with [personal profile] harinezumi, who is in Japan for a week or two. He went up to Hokkaido last week and is in Tokyo this week, mostly to go to Comiket and buy a lot of doujinshi.

I dragged him to the hong kong dim sum place on the 8th floor of Lumine since I've wanted to go back for a while but don't want to go alone. It's like 2100 yen for all you can eat dimsum, chinese buffet, and shabu-shabu, as well as all the soft drinks you can drink. So we stuffed our faces and it was pretty good (though not as good as last time... they never brought out the long pan-fried gyoza or some of the other treats I remembered). Still, it was good to catch up with Konstantin a little, I think this might be one of the few times ever that I hung out with him without other people -- usually it has always been in context with Django and the rest of that gang.

We ended up doing karaoke for an hour after that. I sang lots of old anime themes (because I've actually known Konstantin long enough that he was around when I sometimes went to Vermillion meetings at CMU... way before I decided that I hated anime fans so much that I couldn't bear to be one myself). Stuff like Rayearth, Kenshin, Marmalade Boy, Ririka, etc. It is surprisingly fun and nostalgic to sing some of that though and I ought to see if I can find more of them on machines here before I leave Japan :) I dunno, I just wanted to pick stuff that he would have actually heard before. Kon mostly sang things in English, but he's allowed.

Whee.

And yes, I am at school for Monday/Tuesday... partially for finishing stuff up, partially because I really have nothing better to do.
