I just watched The Usual Suspects with my brother. (well, I watched and sewed; he fell asleep halfway through. But I think he said he'd seen it many times already.) Damn, that was a really wacky ending. I think I get it, but it took me about twenty minutes after the movie mentally reviewing things and checking the IMDB trivia entry for it to be sure of what I thought.

Heh. I have this problem where most movies are so utterly predictable for me that they're unwatchable. Laura proposed "The Usual Suspects" as one that'd make me happy WRT the wacky ending. About half an hour in, I said something like "At the moment, it looks like [actual ending], but since you've said that the ending is surprising, I'm assuming that it's something more subtle."

Despite that, still a good movie.
