Big 6 University Baseball tally
I just realized, I hit my goal! I wanted a signature from at least one player and a photo with at least one player from the other 5 universities that aren't Waseda because they are impossible. (Technically I have Waseda's Saitoh and Ohishi autographs but a blog reader of mine got them in Hawaii in exchange for the photo files so he could get them signed himself, so I am not sure it counts). Even though I got a photo with Yota Hirahara because he is from Teikyo high school and I saw him at Koshien, he counts as a Rikkio player now!

But actually now that I think about it -- this is a relatively impressive tally! I used to be so shy that I couldn't talk to Japanese baseball players at all, so in a way the college baseball guys actually helped me get over that a bit. I'm still not as pushy as I probably should be but at least I've gotten better at actually going up to guys and saying hi, or asking them for photos or autographs, and starting conversations, rather than standing and staring like "...omg that's Kazuhito Futagami but I can't possibly say anything to him..."
Yeah, I know, I guess I'm bragging. It's funny because I'm really not even that big on signatures really, but it makes me REALLY happy to look through my photo book and remember getting the various guys to sign. Lots of funny moments (especially so many of them being like "...me? You sure you want me to sign? Uhh... is it ok if I just write my name and uniform number? I have no fancy signature...")

The more famous of the college boys are a little more nonchalant about signing stuff, some guys specifically TRY to escape before anyone can approach them. Kagami has been really nice and signs for EVERYONE who lines up after a game, he makes the time for it. I feel kind of bad for him but I think that's just part of his personality. (OMG ONLY THREE DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT...)
