Suddenly September
Yesterday was a vacation day from school, but it rained all day, so there was no outdoor baseball, and that sucked.
I didn't do very much; I went to Heiroku for sushi lunch, picked up some bakery food, then came back to the house and talked to Mike on Skype for a while, and then watched the Dragons-Tigers game where Matt Murton got his 200th hit, and then I wasted time on the computer in the evening, I guess.
Today it only rained a little, and my school participated in a huge Arakawa track-and-field event at the National Stadium, so I went to that. The dumb thing is, in the evening the teachers were having an all-you-can-eat-and-drink party. BUT it cost 4000 yen (like $50) and was motsu nabe, which basically means "big hot pot of intestines and other organs". I don't like alcohol and I don't like organ meats, so paying 4000 yen to eat vegetables and watch other people get drunk seemed silly.
Unfortunately I thought I'd come home and watch the Fighters game on BS1, but I apparently got it wrong (or they changed their schedule) and so I didn't watch anything. Oops. I've been spending time off and on the last few days kinda sorta cleaning my room, but no matter how much I do, I still feel like I'm living in a pile of clutter. I just have a lot of little stuff that doesn't really have a place per se.
Also, it's been COLD the last 2-3 days. It's funny because on Wednesday it was over 30 degrees out and hot (so around 90ish in Fahrenheit), and yesterday and today it's been 17-20ish, so basically in the mid-60's. Sheesh. I don't want to turn the heat on though because that seems silly, I figure it's going to be hot again in a day or two.
I'm hoping that the Tokyo Big 6 games tomorrow don't get rained out. I have other plans Sunday and it would royally suck to miss college ball two weeks in a row.
Oh, speaking of which, I forgot, but between the track and field meet and coming home, I stopped in Jimbocho (the used bookstore neighborhood) for about two hours, because I could, and hadn't been there in a while. I got a magazine and a book about the history of Tokyo Big 6. Westbay said that he thinks I probably know more about Japanese college ball than any other native English speaker out there, but I can't imagine that's actually true. (Maybe he just means more than any native English blogger out there.) Still, it can't hurt to study some more, of course :)

I guess I've been lucky(?) in that the weather forecast for here has been pretty accurate...except when it says it's raining and it's not, or when it says it's gently raining and it's pouring sheets and thunder and lightening :p Seriously though, I'm done with this bi-polar weather.
