Hey, it's Saturday

I'll write about today more in a friends-only entry. I just feel like a big dork. Don't worry, it's not really in a bad way, but let's just say that I went to the Hosei-Meiji game, sat in the Hosei ouendan, and Hosei lost, and I did give my present to Kagami. It was really hot outside and I think I had some vague heatstroke action going on for a bit, but then I got Subway for dinner and a big Coke and came home and put on the AC and ate and drank and talked to Mike on Skype and I felt much better.

We have stray cats living on the side of the house again. They've been yowling at night. There are kittens. Worse, I went to do laundry this evening and the room flooded. I THINK that what happened is they took the drainage cord out of the drain, so I put the cord back into what looks like a drain, and hopefully that'll solve it and the water will evaporate in the heat in a day or two. Bleh. I hate stray cats. And the laundry room door is rusted so I can't close it to keep them out.

Thursday night, I went to Akihabara to print more photos, and then I went to Japanese class. I actually did a significant amount of my homework at school this week since I had time due to all the class trips, but I still feel like such a moron. There are so many words I don't know, and my reading speed is so slow. I have this tendency to basically read the first line of a reading section and know immediately that either "I can read this and answer the question" or "I am utterly fucked and this is a waste of 5 minutes". It's sad, and I don't know what to do about the latter ones. We finished our entire grammar book, so now we're finished all the 2-kyuu kanji and 2-kyuu grammar and I wish I could say I really understand them, but of course I don't. Our teacher's going to be gone for 2 weeks and we're going to be focusing on just taking mini-tests and discussing how to approach them better. Next week the two other regulars in the class and I will theoretically go out to dinner/drink after class. Should be interesting.

I came home and worked on assembling the photo book, only to realize I wanted to print more photos. Whoops.

So Friday, after school, I went to Akihabara and printed more photos :) I made more photos for the Kagami book and also a few of other Hosei players to bug to sign. I made them for Doi, Imamura, Harada, and then a set of pictures to give to Kanji Kawai. I got Doi and Harada to sign theirs, but I couldn't FIND Kawai-kun today, which made me super-sad :(

Then I met up with people in Yoyogi for dinner. Andy had requested I get a bunch of people together because he wanted to see what it was like to do more of a big group dinner and karaoke thing in Japan, so I bugged [personal profile] februaryfour, and she and [personal profile] doubt72 and [personal profile] seishinbyou and [personal profile] weyrlady and [profile] eiriene and me and Andy and Jamie all went to Guts Soul and ate a hell of a lot of yakiniku. Andy can eat a LOT. Jesus. By the end of it, we were all full and Andy was just like "Oh, you can put that on my plate... yes, that too... sure, I'll eat that..."

We did karaoke after that (minus two), at the Utahiroba. I got Aaron to do the Superbellz Akihabara-Minamiurawa and Keihin-Kyuko songs. Fun! He also picked Zundoko Bushi. Whee! It was really good to see Aaron again. Oh, and Andy rickrolled our karaoke room. I have to wonder if this is a habit he picked up in the US or not :P
