Happy birthday to me
I guess. I feel surprisingly apathetic about it so far. Something about my birthday always falling right after Golden Week makes it seem kind of sad...
I have a half-baked plan to get yakiniku and go to karaoke later tonight (Friday) at 7:30pm in Akabane, if anyone wants to come up here.
As for today, not too much to say. Back to work, back to life. Had some good baseball chats with kids at school today. Had my 2級 prep class tonight and boy do I suck at Japanese, at least, the kind of crazy backwards obscure Japanese that they put on these tests. I mean, I enjoy the class, and I like my classmates, but sometimes it drives home to me how much I really don't know. We keep taking quizzes, and I just suck at inserting the proper adjectives and adverbs into sentences; even if I understand the sentence, and know what kind of word needs to go in there, I'm usually confronted with a choice between four words I have zero knowledge of.
There was an "accident" on the Saikyo line tonight, too, so getting home took me over an hour, instead of the normal 25 minutes. I ended up taking the Yamanote to Ikebukuro to switch trains, then found out I couldn't, so took it again to Sugamo, then took the Toei Mita line out to Motohasunuma and walked home from there. I wanted to punch at least 2-3 people on the way who said "sorry" or "excuse me" to me in English out of nowhere. I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but it still pisses me off. I really ought to just start replying "drop dead" to these people in Japanese. But instead I just get really angry and spend a few minutes wanting to retroactively punch them.

Even though at times it can be annoying, I'm sure that he adventure of living in Japan has added a ton to your life. Just think about all the Americans you could have been annoyed at instead if you had stayed here ;)
