Full day
Sigh. I have a feeling that because I was not at Lawson's at exactly 10am, I pretty much cannot get tickets to see Spitz when they are touring. Japan, I hate you sometimes.
I spent the afternoon doing laundry and talking to Mike on Skype.
Then in the late afternoon I went to Yoyogi to meet up with
februaryfour and her friend
weyrlady, who probably thinks I'm a royal jerk, because I'm bad at meeting new people. We went up to Ai's apartment to pick up
doubt72 and then to go to Karaoke-kan for some singing. Doug and Ai's apartment is really nice for a 2LDK, it suits them well.
Karaoke was fun, despite that I picked a whole bunch of random bizarre shit to sing, I apparently picked random bizarre shit that is easy for people to sing along to even if they have no clue what it is. Although the quote of the afternoon was probably while Doug was singing Moskau, and among other things they showed the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the bizarre random background video, and I'm like "That's not Moscow!" and Doug's like "It is now! In communist Russia, tower leans YOU!"
A little before 7pm we met up with
seishinbyou and Akudaikan and a dude who was at dinner with us last weekend too who I think they said was nicknamed Boypa, and the 7 of us went to Guts Soul, which is an all-you-can-eat yakiniku place. I thought I'd never been there before, but it turns out I went to the one in Nakano about a year ago with the same group. Go figure. Fortunately, I hadn't eaten much at all beforehand, and managed to completely stuff myself with meat. Yum yum.
Afterwards, the 3 people I was with for karaoke all went home, and I walked to Shinjuku with the other 3. Akudaikan and Aaron and I went to play DDR -- and yeah, I actually played a game of DDR with Aaron. I just played on Standard mode or whatever you call it now and he basically AAA'ed everything he played and I just passed stuff. Apparently there's a 5th mix machine in Kanamecho and I actually would really like to go play some stuff for old times' sake; I think with my current shoes and arch supports I could handle it. But I have no desire to get back into the game seriously ever again, really.
Came home and stopped by Lawson's on the way and got totally freaked out and sad because it seemed like the Spitz tickets are sold out. Sigh :(
Tomorrow is supposed to be Fighters Festa at Kamagaya, but the high tomorrow is like 39 degrees F and they're calling for rain in the morning and snow in the evening in that part of Chiba. Holy shit. I don't know when or whether they'll decide to cancel it or not, so I guess I'm going to try to wake up around 8-9am and email Hiromi or Ojisan to be like "HOW IS THE WEATHER IN CHIBA?" and find out what's going on. I really do want to go, but at the same time, standing out in freezing cold weather for 5-6 hours is not my idea of fun. Sigh.
I'm trying to figure out when I can go to Kyushu. I kinda wanted to go for the weekend of April 10-11 for the Fighters games, but I actually think it'll make more sense to go in August, assuming I'm trying to come back here for 2 weeks on a tourist visa and a rail pass and hit the prefectures I haven't been to yet. The Fighters will be at the Yahoo Dome on Aug 13-15, and the Nagasaki Saints have home games on Aug 14-15 in Sasebo -- I could go back there, actually get to the Johjima museum, hang out with my friend Yutaka, and see the Saints again, now with Noriyuki-123! (Former Lotte ikusei pitcher who I was a fan of for no rational reason.)
Anyway, whatever. Should sleep soon, then hope it's not snowing when I wake up.

I didn't want to make you feel bad, but I sort of guessed that would happen. Scalpers. Go check Yahoo Auctions--those tickets will be there.

I still have to talk with Akudaikan about what/when we can have a grand meetup/dinner when your bf is here. We should be able to come up with something solid in a few days though unless you have any specific requests.
Thanks for coming out, by the way. The Yakiniku was sooo good (hit the spot considering I don't get much of a chance to eat much with the kid taking a lot of time to cafe for and all)
