Wednesday we win
Left work at 5 to get home by 6 for the Fighters game and run errands. Did my traditional bento from Tonkatsu Wako, a konomibento with Hokkaido croquette and two other katsu things. (Katsu means "win", but it also means "fried cutlet".) Got a drink from the conbini -- a new kind of Gogonokocha which is "Apple Darjeeling au Lait". It sounds good, but actually, it ROYALLY SUCKS. At least now I know. I like apple tea and I like milk tea, so apple milk tea sounded good.
Watched the game, chatted in the chatroom on japanesebaseball.com, and liveblogged for my site. I also did laundry, which resulted in my not seeing a few plays when I went down to check the laundry machine, but whatever. The game itself, the Eagles were up on the Fighters for quite a while and then out of nowhere the Fighters exploded on Kazuo Fukumori in the bottom of the 9th, culminating in Terrmel Sledge coming to the plate with the score 8-5 and bases loaded and BLAM hitting a grand slam into the left-field stands. Crazy dramatic. Nomura looked GRUMPIER THAN EVER but IMO he deserves it for making 4 pitching changes in one inning and extending the game by like 45 minutes.
Tonight I am going to the Tokyo Dome to hate on the Giants. Hooray.

Sledgy goes boom
I checked the score at one point and saw it was Eagles by a lot. I awoke to a 'WTF?' boxscore of 5 in the bottom of the 9th. My first thought was, "Well, Deanna must be happy."
And you'll also be pleased to know that the Phils won the pennant and will (likely) be taking on the Yanks in the 'other' Series. 1950 matchup revisited. I am uber-grumpy, as there is no good outcome for me. "The only winning move is not to play." :)
