one of these Japan moments

I'm on the train.

I'm wearing a grey polo shirt and short jeans (cuffed below the knee) and ankle socks, sneakers. Carrying my usual brown messenger bag.

Walking out of the house I worried that it wasn't *quite* in style, but close enough.

Anyway, someone is on the train dressed exactly the same as me. Looks perfectly in style.

...it's a Japanese GUY.

I guess some things never change.

I'm no expert at Japanese fashion, but you got me curious...

Hehe, well... it is true that Japanese men tend to dress "femininely" than American men, though.

Fashion queen!

Take it as a compliment or assurance that you're dressed comfortably and acceptable... no American girl gaffes here.. :)

Haha! Yeah I've had those moments too.

Everyone on the Tawanese TV my mother in law watches looks feminine too. It doesn't help that muscle mass of any sort seems to be taboo, but neither do the pastels.
