Games and stuff
This afternoon I went to school for English Club. Very odd to be there during the summer... the teachers are mostly all wearing casual clothes, and there are still tons of students at the school but there are no classes. Just things like basketball club and kids taking swimming class and whatnot.
After it I came home and quickly tried my best to clean off the table in my upstairs room (eventually ended up making a big stack of "will look through this later" and threw it in the other room), and went to Akabane to meet up with Pau for one of the last times ever, since he's leaving in August. We had a Super Big 500 at Anrakutei for dinner (sorry Jeff) and then came back here and played board games. Or more like, we played the Settlers of Catan Card Game for like 2-3 hours and then one baseball dice game.
I swear the Catan card game didn't used to take that long -- but then again the last record I have on LJ of playing it was 4 years ago with Carl. And I know we used to play it in Pittsburgh, but that is obviously a very very long time ago. I had forgotten what a lot of the cards did. Pau managed to get to 5 settlements first, but I guess I controlled the windmills all along which was slowly pulling resources from him. So we called the game at a certain point. I'm just glad I could play again and re-learn how the hell the game works.
Then we did a baseball dice sim game, running "our version of the Japan Series 2008" where the Fighters managed to beat Seibu and Hanshin managed to beat Chunichi and Yomiuri, so it was the Tigers-Fighters Japan Series... the Fighters won our game 3-0 though. Wooooo.
Why am I still awake? I did a load of laundry, and... and I re-read several times of my life on LJ. I feel like myself in the US was another lifetime or something at this point; I'm very disconnected from who I was there, although I'm the same person as ever... or am I? Sigh.
