Dragonbutt, why do you suck now?

Tonight after work I went up to Omiya for the Dragons-Lions game, kicking off Interleague. The Dragons looked pretty futile for most of the game and then suddenly in the 8th inning they exploded for like 4 runs and managed to totally pull a 7-5 win out of nowhere. Henry Blanco hit two solo home runs, one right after Morino GIDPed. It was frustrating seeing Morino struggle at the plate and in the field though, since he's my favorite player on the team and all. On the other hand, we DID get to see Tatsunami pinch-hit, so that was nice.

I went by myself, got a ticket for unreserved seating B, found an empty seat on a bench, and by the end of the game was chatting with most of the people around me, because that's just kind of how baseball works, especially when your team pulls a win out of nowhere.

I spent an inning looking around Omiya Stadium since I'd never been there before -- there were some great food stands, including Lions taiyaki. Though, it was a little embarrassing running into my friend Masa who actually works for the Seibu Lions. He was like "You stand out in a crowd, you know... especially WHEN YOU ARE WEARING ALL OF THAT CHUNICHI GEAR, WTF?"

Good times. I'd happily go back there. I like the "countryside" small stadiums sometimes -- and this one had nowhere near the capacity issues that certain other Gifu Nagarakawa country stadiums I could name had.

森野将彦放てよ!

Actually, former Lion Kazuhiro Wada was game hero for the go-ahead 2-run homer of his...

They gave away a Lions Omiya poster with Hiroshi "Warera na Hira-OH-OH-OH!" Hirao as the center man. I didn't realize he went to Omiya Higashi HS, that's pretty cool.

I'm totally zonked. Long day at school -- not bad, just long, as I participated in 2 hours of "preparing for Sports Day", including doing radio taisou and herding students and marching and whatnot.

Ahem. Gifu Nagaragawawrgrwgarwgarwga Stadium doesn't have capacity issues, it has entrance and exit issues. Let's be fair here.
