I don't feel like writing a long entry

Went to Agua Verde (hippie mexican place on the water near UW) for lunch with Crazy Grad Student from the ballroom dance club, since he couldn't make it to ballroom last week. That was interesting, since we only get to talk in little bits and pieces at ballroom, but this time just chatted for like 2 hours. He kept talking about Nethack and social dancing. It was funny.

I went to Fred Meyer this evening and spent too much. I see too many things and think "Crap, I can't get THAT in Japan either..."

Got a salad from FM for dinner though, and it hasn't killed me yet, which is good.

Carl passed the JLPT level 1, he got the results today. Good for him! Makes me feel even more inadequate, but that's ok.

I think I either fixed or broke some things in my brain some more tonight. Time will tell.

YOU feel inadequate? Holy crap, I need to get off my ass over here!

Relax about the JLPT thing. The value of it except as self-reference or piece-of-mind is dubious anyways (I know 1-kyu holding Chinese that can't speak the language at all and a 2-kyu holder that couldn't order at Mr. Donut without pointing and grunting)

And don't worry about your brane. Mine has been broken for a decade and everything is still fine. Cheer up, you can join a group of us for okonomiyaki or such sometime.

Nethack..., I was more into the Angband variant myself

Yeah, the JLPT patently doesn't test your ability to actually string sentences together.
