Dorkitude Ahoy
Today, due to weather and whatnot, I made Ben come downtown with me, where I dragged him to Red Robin for lunch. I had one of those Royal Red Robin Burgers that
chite mentioned the other day, and of course it was great. Unfortunately, after a burger and fries I was totally totally stuffed, and then we were walking uphill from the waterfront to 6th and Pike to go to Pacific Place. Oops. That made my stomach cramp up something awful...
The reason we went to Pacific Place, anyway, was to see the movie Fanboys, because it was either going to be mindnumbingly bad in a great way, or in a bad way, we weren't sure which. To me, it was a combination of both, but the great parts outweighed the bad parts. The premise is that it's 1998, Star Wars Episode 4 is coming out soon and these four guys really want to see it... only one of them has cancer and isn't going to live long enough to see the movie. So they roadtrip to break into Skywalker Ranch and steal an advance copy of the movie. Hilarity ensues (and the entire thing is a bizarre parallel to Star Wars itself, plus a bunch of geek/nerd humor thrown in).
We wasted time at B&N after that for a bit. I found a fantastic new baseball book, Odd Man Out, written by a Yale graduate who spent a year as a pitcher in the Angels minor league system before going on to medical school. I read some in the store and some on the bus home, already 50 pages in, it's that good.
Oh yeah, Ben caught the bus back to the airport after that. It was already raining, too. I came home.
Eventually Carl and I went to Chinook's for dinner, fairly late on. I got clam chowder and a caesar salad, and it was pretty much perfect. Wheee.
Now I am playing PP because I'm a dummy.
Bleh, looks like it's going to rain all week while I'm here. That sucks.
I should figure out some lunch plans with people, hopefully. I'm going east-side tomorrow for most of the day...
