Planning travel is hard

As I am thinking of when/how to go back to Seattle, I'm also trying to decide what other cities, if any, to stop in.

I could potentially do an extended layover in Pittsburgh or Chicago on my way back across the country... or I could take day/weekend trips to some places on the West Coast once I'm out there. I'm most drawn to a layover in Pittsburgh just because this is probably the first Carnival I'll be missing in like 14 years, but I'm also quite partial to a weekend trip to the Bay Area just because it's been 2.5 years since I've been there at all. Those would take a lot more effort than the places that are drivable from Seattle.

As for everything else, yesterday I went to a family gathering at my uncle's place, where I saw a ton of family. My brother and sister-in-law were up from DC with the baby, and we had a baby naming ceremony thing, with my other uncle, the rabbi. I was dead tired, but managed to catch up with my other cousins, who it's still hard to believe are in college now.

I chose not to go to Dance Haddonfield despite it being Sunday night, and instead went to sleep from 10pm to 8am. I guess I finally crashed hard. Wonder if I can maintain a sleep schedule like that, but my guess is no.
