More E.L.Konigsburg books --

1) The Second Mrs. Giaconda - a historical fiction about Leonardo da Vinci told through the viewpoint of one of his apprentices. Fun story, but it didn't really have much of an ending and as such left me feeling kind of blah afterwards.

2) Father's Arcane Daughter - this one was really good (It seems that they made it into a movie, "Caroline?" about ten years ago). It took place in Pittsburgh in 1952. Even better, close enough to here that there are all these references to "and then we had dinner at the Hotel Webster Hall cafe" or "...piano lessons at the Carnegie Library, down by the University" or "She got an apartment up on Centre Avenue, in that area that isn't really Oakland or Schenley or Squirrel Hill, where they've just started to replace the mansions with big apartment buildings.." there's just something cool about having someone talk about what this area was like fifty years ago. Anyway, the plot was very interesting, although I guessed the ending at least halfway through it, but it was happy and I couldn't put the book down.
