B-A-G-E-L-S BAGELS!!11!1!

So further in the realm of "I wonder if this restaurant from another city I lived in exists in Philly", today I went to 19th and Market and found the local Bruegger's Bagels, which was a big chain in Pittsburgh.

They didn't have smoked salmon and their staff seemed kind of clueless, but DAMN are those still great bagels. Yum yum. I got a tuna salad sandwich while I was there and a half dozen bagels to go (mostly cinnamon raisin to bring home to my dad).

Now, so keep in mind I walked almost a mile there, so on the way back I stopped in Borders (and got the Chris Coste book, yay) and a few other places, including Macy's, where I came to the conclusion that I really need to make a trip to a suburban mall here, because the clothing/etc stores in downtown Philly are a pile of FAIL. I'm thinking King of Prussia. The bus takes an hour to get there from downtown it seems, but IIRC I could make an entire day excursion out of going there, I'm sure.

Oh yeah, I went to the post office before heading out and I swear to god I had to wait in line 40 minutes to mail something, which is just plain retarded, I have no clue how it's possible for anything to be nearly that inefficient -- that 40 minutes was for them to handle like, 15 people ahead of me. With two windows open. Seriously.

Anyway, came home and ate more bagels, watched Jeopardy and Wheel, worked on some stuff, and oh yeah, finally got BT and stuff working so I can watch Ainori! Woo. Poor Shrek. I think they're hopefully gonna get Momo and Umeo off the show... together... soon.

I went down to the gym and did some more jogging and a bit more lifting but not much. It's just a good idea for me to do it -- kind of replaces the way I'd have a good walk or bike ride in the morning and in the evening in Japan, and here I've just been doing a good walk in the afternoon.

Oh yeah, as far as Obama coming to town today, from what I could gather they were going to make it extraordinarily difficult for common folk like myself to actually see him, so I just kind of slept late instead.

I miss bagels. Most of the "bagels" in Texas are broken.

Some of the people who go to post offices are extremely unprepared.

You might be able to take the train to the Noristown TC and then take a bus to KoP. You avoid traffic on the Schuylkill that way.

Although the mall website (http://www.kingofprussiamall.com/directions.php) says:
SEPTA routes 99, 123, 124 and 125 travel to King of Prussia. Route 99 connects with the R6 in Norristown, and the 124 and 125 connect with many routes at the 30th St. Station and Center City Philadelphia.

If you're at the mall during the week, I could meet you for lunch. It is 5 minutes from my office.

Let me check with Laurie as to our schedule for the weekend. I think we're pretty free.

I think we're free pretty much all weekend with the exception of going to a greyhound event during Saturday morning/early afternoon.

When would you like to come up here?

I saw a Bruegger's Bakery (I think) when driving through Jenkintown last night. It either had closed or wasn't open yet.

Tonight is good. Give me a call on my cell or at the house. I emailed the numbers to you. We're going out soon to get the dog's photos taken with Santa, but meeting up later this afternoon and for dinner would be great!
