Yar!
The humidifier is in my room now! We will see how well I sleep tonight with it on!
Hoping the cold, or theoretical cold, is almost gone. I want to start exercising ASAP because I feel ridiculously fat. I bought jeans at Old Navy the other day in my current size, so I need to make sure I can still fit into them for the next two months in the US, dammit.
I gotta work on the eating habits though. I think once I get out of "OMG STUFF I CAN'T HAVE IN JAPAN! NOMNOMNOM" mode it'll get easier.
Though tonight, since my dad got out of his chemo a bit early, we decided to go out to dinner to celebrate. I suggested Spaghetti Warehouse since I love it (so does my dad). We took a taxi up there, and oh man, I ended up getting an eggplant parm / manicotti combination, which, to my credit, I could not finish and DID NOT FINISH. Go me. Dad polished off an entire veal parmesan dinner and then also ate cheesecake for dessert (I skipped dessert, I had a salad before). It's weird because he wants to GAIN weight and I want to LOSE weight. I guess I'm just glad he's got a decent appetite.
But it was still a hell of a lot of food.
Been working on some stuff here. I really need to really bury myself in Perl one of these days.
Speaking of which, it was kind of funky to be at Thomas Jefferson hospital again today, anyway. Not only was I born there, but the last company I worked at before moving to Japan, TJ was using our medical software. Was funny telling my dad, "You know, I'm pretty sure the hospital has decent enough software to save your bloodwork data. Infact, I'm REALLY sure of it!"
I should write a Thanksgiving type post, but I don't know what to say. I'm glad to be alive! Everything else is sort of dependent on that statement.
