Tuesday is DDR day
I didn't do much this afternoon because it was raining. I shopped at Geagle to get stuff to cook tomorrow for a potluck I'm going to, and I wasted time online a lot. I did look up several jobs at MS that I wouldn't mind applying for, so I'm working on that. I ate macaroni and cheese for lunch/dinner around 4pm. Whee.
Met up with Bayani and Rebecca and we picked up Angel and went to BVM. It took like an hour and a quarter to get there. There was a really nasty pothole on fifth avenue - the hubcap on Rebecca's car went FLYING. So we stopped and Bayani went out to get it - he came back with two hubcaps like "Hm, is your car a Chevy?" apparently a lot of hubcaps have been lost in this one place, heh. Rush hour traffic sucks, but we got to BVM around 7pm.
So there were four of us, and Juan who I've met before, and this guy who had a necklace made out of dice (it was soooooooo cool) and this other guy who knew Juan from highschool, but I didn't catch his name. We pretty much took turns playing until closing. I don't think I'm going to place in this next tourney at all unless I manage to place third after Rebecca and Juan, since they both signed up for Trick and I think they're better at getting Perfects than I am. Right now, I will tell you about how I'm doing at my strongest songs:
1) B4U - I topped it out with 202 perfects tonight. It's the only song I totally own at.
2) Saints go Marching - always a full-combo, but Juan beat me by 6 perfects, 159-153 (FC is 202). So it's a strong song for me, but not against him. Sigh.
3) Sung Suk - I topped out at 118 (out of 150) perfects, which is respectable. But I also had one round where I only got like 80 perfects. Ugh.
4) My Summer Love - oddly the song that lost me the last tournament, I'm whooping ass at. Usually I get like 145ish perfects (out of 189)
5) Face - Actually, I am doing really well with this song too, and it has the added bonus that most people don't play it much (since it's one of the random Korean ones). I got around 145/186 perfect on this one too.
Anyway, it was a good evening nonetheless. But I'm going to suck ass at the tournament Saturday. So if you are planning to enter Trick in the tournament, now you know exactly how to beat me. Although I'm hoping to do better then - maybe my legs won't hurt by Saturday.
We got kicked out of the arcade at 9:30. The guy was like "I'm closing here in like a minute" at 9:25, and I was pissed because I was still due up for a last round of songs... so Juan and I got on the machine and quickly selected songs and played through a last set of three. At 9:33 or whatever he was like "Get out, get out, get out!" so we got out of the arcade and almost found ourselves locked into the mall as well... (the mall closes at 9) but then it turned out the handicapped door wasn't locked. Whew. Came home, and now I am here working on my resume again.
