Wednesday -- movie and stuff
This is really Wednesday's entry. I'm sitting at McDonald's Akabane leeching wireless right now, wheee.
Today I went up to Saitama Shintoshin and got lunch at Kua'Aina (turkey sandwich, heh) and went to see Fure Fure Shoujo at the movie theater there.
It was pretty good, it's about a super-shy quiet geeky girl named Momoko who gets a huge crush on a baseball player at her high school after he hits her in the head with a ball during practice, so she wants to somehow get closer to him, so she tries being a manager, or a cheerleader, and finally, joins the ouendan. Err, so there's only one guy in the ouendan. But they recruit a few more people and with the help of their insane 30-years-ago sempai group, become super ouendan, and despite that the star baseball player transfers to the rival high school (called 不知火学園, shiranui gakuen, except the joke is always calling it "shiranai gakuen"), and the baseball team at their school, Sakuragi, actually HATES the ouendan and wants them to go away, they keep cheering anyway. Naturally in the finals the team actually does make it to Koshien, AND the cheerleaders and marching band and everyone who have been making fun of the ouendan all show up for the final match, and it looks like a real freaking ouendan, and everyone is happy. Well, aside from maybe Ryutaro, the other original ouendan guy, who is obviously head over heels fallen for Momoko, who seems oblivious (until the last scene... kind of).
I liked it, it was very funny, though I guess I see why it didn't stay in theaters long, given that they spend like 45 minutes of the movie at Ouendan Camp.
I poked around Shintoshin for an open wireless port after that, didn't find one. Went to Warabi, stopped at Can-Do to get the plastic book boxes that I can't seem to find at the other Can-Do stores. I thought about going to the internet cafe in Warabi but by then I was carrying way too much stuff.
I checked the McDonald's at Akabane and I am pretty sure there's an open wireless there, so I'm thinking that given my options: spend 500 yen on dinner and leech wireless for an hour at McDonald's, or spend 500 yen on an hour at an internet cafe... ehh, actually, internet cafe for an hour is probably better in some ways, especially for when I want to buy plane tickets home, but I really don't want to come home smelling like smoke again :(

So yeah, after writing that first part, I wrote a long baseball entry about the Tokyo Big 6 game, then came back to this Mcdonald's at about 10:30pm. It was 620 yen for my food, so maybe the internet cafe is a better deal, haha, BUT at least here I can use my own damn laptop, PLUS there is a nosmoking section. I don't think I want to eat at McDonald's all the time, but this isn't a bad option, especially if I can get coupons or cheaper food. And right now it is really empty relatively -- it was packed at 7pm when I first wandered by, but I have two tables to myself right now, against a wall so nobody can see what I'm doing/writing. That is nice.
Also, here is a gratuitous picture from me watching the World Series. Which still haven't continued.

Look at all those lovely flowers I got! I can't believe the bigger bouquet is still alive 5 days later. That's crazy. The Phanatic likes them though.
