day off at Tokyo Dome
I may have accidentally made plans to sit with two groups of people at the game and thus I should probly write an apology to the guy who saved me a seat with his group... we met at Seibu last week and all. I came by before the game to say hi to him and chatted for a while but told him I was sitting in the front row with some crazy people. One of the guys in his group told me that his wife just gave birth to their first kid yesterday. I was like "Congrats... WHY ARE YOU HERE TODAY???"
Did pinbadges. Ran into Crazy Kensuke Fan, this lady from Sapporo who follows the team all over the place. She has a ton of pinbadges so I traded her, now I have Hichori and Micheal and Sledge and all. Then Hiromi also gave me a Hichori pinbadge so now I have two. Huh.
I got my Fan Club "junior" problem straightened out... but it'll take like 3 weeks for a new card to show up. Urk. I also bought a Hokkaido jersey! I think they mischarged me though, I think I paid 1500 yen and it was supposed to be 3000 yen? Also I got a size L. Maybe I shoulda gotten M. It's a bit big on me, but I guess that's better than being small.
We cheered a lot during the game and held up signs from our front row perch. Minako got a text message from her mother up in Sapporo who was watching the game, "I just saw you on TV with Hiromi and a gaijin ojosan, all of you in green!" Heh.
Jason Botts finally hit a big home run (and thus we did the Ponyo cheer with "homerun" in it) and Ryan Glynn actually got a win, so they were game heroes! The Fighters beat the Marines 4-0 and it was a lot of fun. Micheal got the save, and Kaneko got 2 hits, and it was all around good.
Kamagaya Ojisan said that I am like a Fighters fan "idol". I was like "nono, I am a mascot".
The game was really quick, over by like 9ish. I stopped off in Akihabara on my way home to change trains and found the arcade Phylicia had mentioned with the Pop'n cellphone straps in the UFO catcher and wouldn't you know, I got one on my first try too. Funny that.
I talked to my dad on Skype for a while when I got home, hence why I didn't write an entry last night. Now I am back at work. Whee.
