still in Fukuoka and it is still HOT

So yeah, I saw my last ever game at the current hiroshima stadium on saturday night. whee.

then on Sunday afternoon I climbed the Fukuoka Dome:

no, just kidding.

Anyway, quickly, Sunday I woke up and went to the Chiba-Softbank game. Nice part is rolling out of bed, going downstairs, walking across the street, and being at the baseball game. Marines batting coach Frank Ramppen left me a ticket and unlike when Larry does that, this went smoothly without any hitches at ALL, I just found the kankeisha ticket place, said my name and who left them, and boom, they gave me a ticket. It was way out along the 3B side but that's ok, a free ticket is a free ticket :) I snuck down to the backstop and yelled hello and thanks to Frank and Paul and Bobby, who waved back at me, so people were whispering "oooh, she knows Bobby". Whee.

The game was ok but the Marines lost 3-2. It was 2-1 into the 9th, Shunsuke Watanabe had started and was still in, Tsuyoshi Wada for the Hawks and he was also still in, and with one out, Hiroki Kokubo hit a home run tying the game and then the Hawks won in the bottom of the 12th.

argh.

I bought some omiyage at the Hawks store and came back to the hotel for a few minutes, then went down to the beach to take some silly photos like the one above, then took a shower because I was a SWEATY MESS.

Took a taxi to Tenjin station, then found the Fukuoka branch of Mint, my favorite baseball card store, where I proceeded to buy a fukubukuro that had 4 packs and a golden imprint signed card of Takahiro Arai from 2003 in it, not bad. I wandered around downtown for a while and eventually found my way into an underground shopping city, and within that, I found a kaitensushi place, and tried some bizarre things I'd enver heard of before, AND avocado rolls. Their version of avocado rolls has crab and lettuce and lots of stuff in it. But it was good.

Came back, bought a t-shirt at the Hard Rock Cafe on my way in. It's an American size L but I'm swimming in it... debating whether to return/exchange it or to figure a 100% cotton shirt will shrink the first time I wash it. Hrm.

Saw the last inning of the Dragons game on BS1 at the hotel and all I can say is MASA 199!!!! Iwase <3! Yay.

Now, it is Monday morning and I should be leaving shortly to brave the heat and take some minor league photos at Gannosu, then Fighters game in the evening.
