laundry and shopping -- boring day, I guess
Hmm, today.
It started off with a LOT of laundry.
Worse, I put my futon out to air. It was sunny at noon... and slightly raining by 2pm. I think I managed to take it in before it got particularly wet, but ugh. Stupid weather. Naturally 15 minutes later it was sunny again. I spent most of the afternoon running between my apartment and the laundromat -- first to dry sheets/towels, then to put the blankets in the big washer there, then to dry clothes, then to take back things, etc, etc. I think I finally finished laundry around 5pm.
By the way, during that time, I installed Skype, so if you want, you can add me there too now, my user name is just my first name and last name, same as AIM. Yeah, I'm boring. I tested it by calling Westbay and talking about baseball for a bit. (I don't really know anyone's Skype names, and I think the account I used to have like four years ago is gone now)
I wrote about the Meiji-Waseda game and then I went up to the Urawa-Misono AEON mall to look for clothes. I was pretty much unsuccessful, although I tried on a few things that were interesting... I just look stupid in Japanese clothes. One thing was that I found the GEOS there... it's not only in the mall, it's in Jusco! By the kids' department, next to a huge videogame arcade. I'm so jealous -- it must be so awesome working there in some ways, you'd never have a lack of toys or props or anything, even clothes, if you forgot your shoes or socks or suit or whatever in a pinch you could just go downstairs and buy a new one. And to be in the middle of a mall must be pretty great too in a lot of ways -- so many choices for food, plus having a movie theater RIGHT THERE, and such. On the other hand I suppose there isn't anything ELSE near Urawa-Misono except the Urawa Reds stadium, so you're kinda always stuck in the mall, but... oh yeah, the Kaldi there also has Kraft Mac&Cheese, AND Dad's Root Beer and diet Dr. Pepper and Swiss Miss and maple cookies and honey roasted peanuts and all of this stuff I had been buying at Costco. I don't think the Kaldi in Akabane has all of that though, strangely. I didn't buy any of the aforementioned food, but was just startled to note that they had all of it.
Oh, I tried Loco Moco for dinner. I don't get what the big deal is about it. Hawaiian rice bowl. Whatever.
Watched Ainori and straightened up my apartment some more, but I think at this point straightening up my apartment is such an impossible task that every little bit I do feels like I still haven't done anything. I cleaned out my kitchen a bit, and again, you can't really tell that I did much at all. That's what's the saddest part, I guess. I need to throw things out, or find better ways to store things, but I'm bad at that. I don't really use my loft, and I hate to store things up there unless I can find some storage bins so everything doesn't get retardedly dusty. I should have done that today, but instead I went to the far away mall. It's just as well, riding home from Diamond City with drawers or whatever on the back of my bike in the rain would have SUCKED.
And now, more rain. And I should sleep. I kinda wanted to get up a little early tomorrow and try the kaitensushi place I noticed opened up by Warabi station for lunch -- the hours are 11am to 11pm so in theory I could catch it after work, but usually the last half hour of a kaitensushi place is a kinda crappy time to go there, so eh. We'll see what happens.
