Mikinori Katoh (baseball photogeekery)

the2belo, since running AIM express seems to make gthumb and other stuff totally hang on my band-aid system. But if you like baseball player photos you might like these too. These are just resized, not really fixed at all since I don't have any utilities to do it right now. Hopefully I'll go manage to install gimp before I finish working on the rest of the set... this is from Sunday afternoon at Meiji Jingu, when I went to the Yakult-Seibu preseason game.
This is my favorite of the entire bunch.
And for my "I am a big baseball nerd" points... here's a picture I took from the rightfield bleachers last time I saw a game at Jingu, on October 28 2007. It was the annual college baseball showdown of Keio vs. Waseda.
Katoh pitched a complete 12-inning shutout win for Keio that day. He's crazy. The Waseda starting pitcher was, of course, the Handkerchief Prince, Yuuki Saitoh. A few weeks later, Katoh was drafted by the Yakult Swallows.
I'm not quite sure how I've managed to almost always see the same starting pitchers at Jingu. This is my second time seeing Katoh and something like my fifth time seeing Kazuhisa Ishii and he isn't even ON Yakult anymore!

Though, those shots are from the bullpen, not from the mound. I wish stadiums here weren't so retarded in separating outfield from infield and such. I hope I can get some Dragonbutts when they come to Jingu in a few weeks.
