Omiyagels

Today I brought many things with me to work, which would have been a lot easier if not for the fact that it was raining, and some workmen were drilling up the ground around my apartment building (which woke me up at 9:30am). Clothes, and chocolate, and bagels, and markers. I dragged it all on the train with me in plastic bags and eventually made it to GEOS slightly wet, but otherwise unscathed.

"Do you think this is enough chocolate for all of our students?" I said, holding up a 3-pound bag of Hershey's Kisses and another 3-pound bag of "Fun Size" Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, etc bars.

"I should certainly HOPE so," said Eri. "Sorry I was sick yesterday and couldn't come with you to Costco."

"That's ok, I got to explore somewhere new on my own! I went to the Kanazawa Seaside location for a change," I said happily. "Also, I brought you some omiyage."

"Uhhh, omiyage?"

"Omiyage." I handed her the bag of 6 cheese bagels. "It was over two hours from my house and two prefectures away, that qualifies as a trip, right?"

"Oooh! How much do I owe you?"

"Nothing," I said. "Remember how they'll only allow you to buy a dozen bagels there but I can only eat around 6 in a week before they go stale? I could either buy a dozen and throw out 6 of them, or I could buy a dozen and give you 6 of them."

"Cool, thanks."

"Also, uh, if you see me twitching later today, please stop me from eating any more chocolate, okay?"
