I win!

Maybe only [profile] teravell will appreciate this, but my student who takes my 8pm Sprint 7Y and my 9pm Sprint 7X came in to the first class and said, "I have to go back to work at 9pm for a meeting, so I can't stay for the second class today, I'm really sorry."

Thus I did not have to teach the dreaded Sprint 7X Unit 16 class to him!

(It's just a lesson that is completely made of awkward. I think I can deal with teaching it to my Friday class because there are a bunch of people in it, but I really did NOT want to have to do that one alone, and he's my only student in the 9pm class. I had even gone so far as to prepare the Sprint 8Y 16 class for him instead, on sports idioms. But now I don't have to worry about it for another 6 months! I win! Well, aside from still having to teach it on Friday, but it's ok, I think.)

It's all about speed dating, online matchmaking sites, etc. The title of the lesson is "I just started seeing this really sweet guy." Ring a bell?

Haha, yeah. Luckily all of my Sprint 7 students were women about my age... I can see how that would be awkward with a guy or a mixed class, if they're not comfortable with each other.

Waaah, I have to teach it tomorrow!! ToT;; I'm thinking of trying to zureru it to be about the plots of everyone's favorite dramas instead.

I still have to teach it on Friday, but that'll be to a college girl, a banker woman a little older than me, and an engineer guy a bit older than me. They're all nice people so I think it'll probably go over okay.

I'm seriously considering making the final production "Okay, your English teacher is lonely in Japan. How would you find her a date?" and see what they come up with. They are all funny people so I am betting anything that they will recommend me finding a Speed Baseball Dating Batting Cage or something.
