Okay, so a few weeks ago I found the CD single of "Sunny Day Sunday" by Sentimental Bus at a Book-Off for like 50 yen, and tonight I bothered ripping it to listen to it (as I was also ripping things like 燃えよドラゴンズ！2007), and I'm looking at the inside pic thinking "Wait, that's a baseball stadium..." and then I read the lyrics and this song is ALL ABOUT GOING ON A DATE TO A BASEBALL GAME. Well, kind of. But still. I played this song all the time in Drummania 4 or 5 or wherever it was like 5 years ago, I swear (I think it was my first Ex song I passed, at level 65ish back in the day), and hadn't really heard it since. What a crazy discovery. I totally have to try to do this song at karaoke someday.
Anyway, yeah, so I'm listening to music and stuff, for a change. Since I don't have a CD player, or an iPod, I really haven't been listening to much lately. I should do something about that, I guess, maybe pick up a cheap CD player, I dunno.
When I left work tonight there was a guy playing a guitar and singing songs out in the Akabane ekimae area. That is not particularly strange. What was notable was that he was playing "Cherry" by Spitz, which is one of my absolute favorite songs ever. So I stood around and listened to him sing (and got some weird looks from this old dude who walked by who probably wondered why I was just standing there). When he finished I applauded and he said in English, "Thank you very much!" so I said in Japanese, "I love Spitz, that's my favorite song of theirs." He replied "Yeah, it's a pretty good song, I like it too." He started singing something else that I didn't recognize, though, so I walked off to my train (it was already past 11pm, I had stayed late for various reasons).
I really want to push myself to be just slightly better at Pop'n so I can comfortably play level 28 songs. Then all of the songs I left behind at level 20-21 which are level 27-28 on Hyper would be playable again!
I bought a pair of pliers and some rings at the 100-yen shop today. I'm going to try to repair my broken baseball keychains. The charms are all intact, it's the rings/clasps that connect them to everything else that keeps breaking. My Fighters mini-noisemaker and my Furuta "Daida Ore" shirt charm both broke in the last few weeks.
Also, uhhhh, I'll just say it once for the WTF factor, but Kroon to Yomiuri? WTF? I hate the Giants ever so much.
