Nori Story
I told this story to Jeff in an IM but it bears repeating for the few others that know who Norihiro Nakamura is.
On Thursday night in my Mill A class, we're talking about how to describe people. So I get out my Sports Number magazine and show the picture of Norihiro in the front of the MVP article. He's in street clothes and looking kind of solemn in it.
So I say, "What does he look like?"
Girl A: "He is fat."
Girl B: "He is not very cute."
Girl A: "He looks like he is very old."
They eventually got around to things like "he has short black hair" and such, but... I pointed at my Mariners poster and said "What does Ichiro look like?" and the reaction was "He's cool!" "He's really cute!" "He's young and handsome." I told them Ichiro is 3 months younger than Norihiro; they were all pretty shocked by that.
Anyway, today was hectic too. At least I had time to go get kaitensushi for lunch. God forbid I might have finally become a "regular" at Heiroku after going there once a week for the last 3 months, but today the sushi chef even made some plates of hamachi nigiri and put them out on the belt right near me, without me having to order it. Score.
I had an odd moment today I can't talk about in a public post. I'll explain more later, maybe.
Next Friday is a national holiday, so GEOS is closed. The kids were all delighted to hear there was no class next week. It was pretty funny.
I wanted to listen to this jazz-blues band that always plays by Akabane station on Fridays, but there was this asshole old drunk guy out there yelling at the band, yelling at people, etc... he saw me come close and started yelling at me too. I don't understand how this happens considering that it's RIGHT BY THE POLICE BOX and all.
I went to McDonald's. I am bad. I have a new coupon book for it is the problem, AND I was completely starving by the time I got out at 10:30pm. Then I came home and played a bunch of Pop'n at the arcade. I apparently can now sight-read 26's randomly but can't sight-read 27's, which was frustrating (I passed Graduation 26, then failed Break Down 27. Stoopid BeForU.) I was trying to avoid going back outside because it is COLD now.
