The 7th

So, I had to accomplish a bunch of things today, including some writing I had promised to do this weekend, taking out the trash in the house and cleaning out the fridge and stuff like that, playing volleyball, and getting together with Carl. In theory I was supposed to also go to the House of Slack, but alas, I took too long writing stuff and everything else ran late.

I think I fucked up my left ankle playing volleyball. Hopefully it'll feel better tomorrow. It's pretty typical for me to injure myself playing, but usually things bounce back. I did have fun playing, though.

We decided to put off celebrating the 7th for real until after Zach gets back, but still went out to dinner for it, just a lesser dinner. We hit up Costas Opa in Fremont, since Carl had never been there before, and I got one of the super-huge greek combo platters, but it was my first real meal of the day so I ate about 3/4 of it. Yummmmm. Then we came back here, I had to finish up some more stuff I was working on to send out, Carl watched the first act of Into The Woods while I was working on it, and then we watched Lunch Queen episode 11, so there's only one left to go! Funniest part of the episode was probably when Minoru says to Shiori, "I know every other character in this show basically likes to spend ten years obsessing over someone before they'll even remotely confess to them, and I've only felt this way for two weeks, but I like you! Yeah, they really should banish me from this series for not being a complete retard."

Okay, he doesn't really say that, but if I had been subtitling the show, that's what I would have written.

D-- What does the character on your userpic's cap represent in Japanese?

I suspect it's a stylized sen, the first character of the name of the guy's high school, which is Senkawa. By itself it means "thousand".

...it's sufficiently stylized that it looks more like the character fu though, which is the prefix "un-".

I see. Because as someone who sorta reads Mandarin, it looks like his hat says, "No." And... I suspected the answer was more complex than that. Thank you!
