Seattle enthusiasm
It took my bus a long long time to get across town to the office this morning (after, of course, driving past the Space Needle, which has a "12" flag on top of it in blue and silver). The streets were full of Seahawks fans wearing gear, waving flags, etc, for the rally at Westlake Center. And oh, was it full. I got off the bus to walk to work, wearing all navy blue with a Mariners shirt (ha! I can wear it to the office today because it's officially "support your Seattle teams" day!) and just, well, everyone walking past me was wearing Seahawks stuff.
Cars were honking in the streets at each other and waving Seahawks flags as they were stuck in traffic trying to get to the rally. It was just like being in Pittsburgh again.
I could hear the rally starting for real as I got to my office building, 7-8 blocks away.
It's really pretty amazing. The only time I remember seeing Seattle sports fans this pumped up about something was in the atmosphere at Safeco Field when Ichiro broke the single-season hits record, and even so, that was limited to the stadium, not to the whole goddamn city.
I'd also like to mention that it's convenient how both Pittsburgh and Seattle use the same colour schemes for their football and baseball teams, unlike certain other places I've lived (ahem, Philly).

Ooh, I'm gonna play a game!
- (technically) Chicago (the Bears and the White Sox)
- Atlanta (the Falcons, at least when they wear their Red unis... and the Braves)
- Washington D.C. (the Redskins and the Nationals, if you exclude the yellow trim on the Skins unis)
Man, and that's it. And you could make an argument against all three of those. Interesting observation from your end....
Re: Ooh, I'm gonna play a game!
Pittsburgh's got it so all the teams have black/yellow, too -- Stillers, Pirates, and the Penguins.
Unfortunately, the Sonics are what, green/yellow? They belong in Oakland. Bah.
As a little kid in Philly, I had pennant stuff on my walls from all four of our local pro sports in all sorts of clashing colors. At the time, including the maroon the Phillies used for a while before going back to a real red, that meant
Phillies: Maroon and White (World Series champs, 1980)
Eagles: Green and Grey (NFC champs, 1981)
76ers: Red and Blue (NBA champs, 1983)
Flyers: Orange and Black (Division champs, 1980 I think)

I'm having a hard time imagining the Eagles in that color scheme, though. They'd look like the Arizona Cardinals. *shudder*
