Dear LJ, run my life for me, thanks

Tonight, Deanna would like to go to a baseball game... but where should she go?

Choice 1 - Safeco Field, Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers, 7:05pm

League: American

Pros - convenient (15 min walk from work, 30-40 mins to bus home), see Jamie Moyer pitch
Cons - going to games there on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday as well. Not that this really stops me.

Choice 2 - Everett Memorial Stadium, Everett Aquasox vs. Tri-City Dust Devils, 7:05pm

League: Northwest League, Minor League Class A (short-season); TCDD is a Colorado Rockies affiliate, Aquasox is Mariners.

Pros - hopefully see #1 2005 Mariners draft pick Jeff Clement suiting up and catching for the Aquasox in his pro ball debut. Never been to an Aquasox game before, would be exciting and new.
Cons - will take 2-3 hours total transit time by bus, and still along the lines of 1.5 hours by car. Clement might not play. No idea who rest of roster is (this may be a pro though, to see some prospects)

Choice 3 - Cheney Stadium, Tacoma Rainiers vs. Iowa Cubs, 7:05pm

League: Pacific Coast League, Minor League Class AAA affiliates of the Mariners and Cubs

Pros - see players I actually am familiar with; maybe get to cheer on Snelling, Brown, Felix, etc, would probly see Cubs players like Ben Grieve, etc. Costs less than either Mariners or Aquasox game.
Cons - can't reeeeally bus there. Would take upwards of 2-2.5 hours transit time even by driving. Might not see any of aforementioned players.

Choice 4 - stay at home, read Harry Potter

Pros - cheap.
Cons - boring. Can read Harry Potter on bus to Everett, anyway.

I've always actually enjoyed attending minor league games a lot more than major league ones. It just feels so much more intimate... so much more like the classic game of baseball and less like a bunch of spoiled millionaires.

That being said, the transit times seem quite annoying.

I'd vote for #2, I think. Unless you need to stay at work late, then #1 is the only viable choice.

Anything but 4 :P

Read HP so you can share in spoiler goodness. (But I'm biased since I don't generally enjoy watching sports. Especially not alone).

But if you go, go for #1 because sitting for hours on a bus before and after sitting for hours at a game makes for a funny butt shape.

Cheers,
Matt

I was half-expecting you'd have finished HP by Tuesday morning :)

She'll be leaving Half-Butt Prints. *ducking*

Seriously, [livejournal.com profile] dr4b, if you've avoided the spoilers so far, take your time. I recommend reading over a weekend when you can read a huge chunk in one sitting.
