Austin day 6 - doctors and stuff
I didn't get to sleep until way late last night, so I didn't get up until like 1pm. Zach had taken a half day from work, so by the time I was showered and changed, he showed up here and we went to Kerbey's Diner or whatever with him, where we ended up hanging out for a decent chunk of the afternoon. Afterwards, since I felt like crap, Zach and Nick took me over to a walk-in clinic thing to have a doctor look at me. (I'm sure
bhudson will be happy to hear this.) The doctors said I had a slight fever (99.1) and swollen lymph nodes and around my throat -- but they took a throat culture and it came up totally negative for strep, and he listened to my lungs and said I was breathing just fine, so he prescribed some antibiotics and strong cough medicine. They're not really sure what I have, so hopefully maybe this stuff will work a little better... and in a week I should go get a doctor to check me out again.
We went to CVS to get the prescription filled, and then it was a little after 5pm so we decided to just drive to Adam and Rehana's place. We showed up there JUST as Adam got back from the airport with Carl in tow.
Carl brought me cookies :) :) :)
The rest of the evening was spent goofing off. We played a ton of Tichu, and a little bit of Mu, and ordered in Chinese food (well, Pan-asian, whatever, which led to a ton of jokes -- my new goal is to convince someone that when the world was one large continent, that continent was called Panasia). As you can guess, we skipped swing dancing because I felt like crap. I feel bad, but oh well.
I'll be doing a new year's post either shortly or in a day. Hopefully shortly, if this cough medicine doesn't totally knock me out.
