Quickie

First off, if you're really curious about that dingbat from the other day (which I am sure you are not)

GRIMACED
--------
HOLY MOUND

Winston Churchill. Get it? Winced (grimaced) on Church (holy) Hill (mound).

Second off, something that none of you know about me, since I was thinking about it, is that I wince every time I see roadkill. Roadkill really disturbs me in a lot of ways. Probably just because it's kinda uncool to see blood and guts and fur splattered all over the road. Though, at least most times it's already dead and I don't need to see it in action. Last night driving up 50th street there was a possum or marmot or some furry creature crossing the road. I stopped for it but the car in front of me did not - the fuzzy creature got caught under the car as the car drove over it, rolled onto its back, twitched a little, got up and scurried off the street, noticeably limping. I'm sure it died within the night.

Every time I'm driving alone and I see roadkill, I usually say something like "I'm sorry". I know it doesn't help anything, but I feel like I need to apologize for mankind for some reason.

Even if I'm driving w/ someone, I usually say a small blessing whenever I see roadkill myself.

ohhh. I was trying to figure out what a dingbat was. I thought it was an anagram or something.

I know how you feel about the roadkill thing.

I'm amazed at how people can just hit an animal and be like "whateva." I would be inconsolable. The way I see it, they were here first and we moved in on their territory. That alone makes it much harder for me to handle.

If I hit something and it was still alive, I would at least call animal control or something to see if they could save it. :(

Heh. I was thinking of "Zion", but that's a holy mount, not a holy mound.
