Wednesday (a step back)
Hee, Cleaver just sent me email wondering why I was cancelling my account. He didn't realize it was my *other* account.
So, I was at work until almost 8pm. Watched the first 2 innings of the Mariners game here... figured I didn't want to see it when Ryan Franklin cracked... go figure, the guy goes and pitches a complete game shutout against the Angels. What the. I read in the articles afterwards that he had also just come back from a weekend with his family since his grandmother just died... that's pretty amazing. It was his first win in 3 months, too. Poor Franklin.
I went to Whole Foods after work to grab dinner and Jamba Juice. I ran into Guido and Laurel! Yay! I hadn't actually met Laurel before (Guido was one of my officemates at Amazon, and Laurel is his fiancee) but we were both like "I have heard SO MUCH about you". Hehe. So that was pretty neat and I talked to them for a while.
Then I came home and played in the PP "duty puzzle bakeoff for a monkey". Aside from a glitch in sailing, I actually did extremely well -- 7 Incredibles and 5 Excellents for the leagues I was scored -- and tied for first place in my division. So I am now the proud owner of a cutter called the Ultimate Carpenter! I mostly took it because I'd be really bitter if not only was my Ultimate Carp not unique (which it isn't) but if someone ELSE had the Ultimate Carpenter as well... ugh. Anyway, I was pretty happy with that until my crewmates started telling me to go challenge Tedv for the monkey (Silverdawg insisted there was some rule where the first place winners could contest for it even if they weren't first overall. I saw no such rule.), and I'm like "Dude, I already HAVE a monkey and I will for next season too so SHUT UP" and logged out for a while.
The good part about it is that I started backing up my hard drive at long last, lazy girl I am. I got about 8 CDs worth burned yesterday; if I can do that again tonight I'll be in really good shape. I burned CDs, played some Frequency (okay, played Science Genius Girl until I broke 1500), and even read a chapter of a book. Whoa. I did log back in for a bit and hung out at the Remora blockade with Bifnot, and chatted with Rome for a while. Oh and Bif traded me his tailor for my monkey for like 15 minutes so he could see what it was like to have a familiar for a bit and I could check out the tailor and decide if I want to work there. It's kind of a tough call honestly. I don't think it's possible to make much money in Emerald, is the real problem. Ah well.
The bad part is that I probly should have gone and tried to hang out with Zenspider for the evening, but ah well -- we'll find some time next week?
