I get around like sushi on a kaiten
I'm gonna comment on the cosmic stuff sometime. I'm just not sure what to say. I think I posted that because I was cranky and because I got into one of those frustrating situations in the game as described. I don't think we necessarily need to stop playing, but I guess it was just a frustrating game for me and I hate it when one pivotal RANDOM thing can just blow everything away like that. It's over now, I've vented, it doesn't matter to me, I'll play again whenever (which we know won't be for 2-3 weeks at least anyway).
Uh, anyway. I got up today when Krispy called, and apparently Chris (Smoak) had lost his keys to his car, so they wanted me to come over and we'd all go to lunch and stuff. Except like, the locksmith showed up and all this other stuff and then they figured out where his keys were anyway. Long story. So Chris lives on a houseboat down by Gasworks park. I drove there, picked up Chris and Krispy (and one of Chris's friends who I gave a ride home to). Then we went to Fremont. Walked around the Fremont Sunday Market for a while and looked at stuff; Krispy and Chris ended up buying soaps and I ended up buying some buttons. Then we went to Blue C Sushi for the kaiten experience. WOO! It was really good and they had a lot of eel/cucumber rolls out today which made me happy.
Went back to the houseboat and sat around for a while looking out on Lake Union. Chris's boat is really really rad. I'd never been on a houseboat before. He has an upper deck with a hot tub and benches and nav wheel and whatnot, and like a bedroom and a living/room kitchen, and a front porch deck and a back porch deck, and an extra loft bed area and a little bunkbed room. The boat just keeps rocking back and forth, which is a little disconcerting, but that's okay. We walked around the docks and looked at other boats. Krispy was trying to figure out whose wireless access he was stealing. Heh.
Then we went to Uwajimaya so Krispy could get his Kinokuniya fix. While he did that, Chris and I went and got bubble tea and sat around talking about stuff. He's working at Amazon now, even with some of the guys I used to work with (alv, and peterc, and such, in Web Services) and even weirder, HE WORKS ON THE EIGHTH FLOOR OF PACMED TWO OFFICES DOWN FROM MY OLD OFFICE! How just bizarre! So that was neat to tell him about Seattle and to hear him talk about Amazon.
Krispy and I bought way too much kinokonoyama and takenokonosato since they were on sale. Yummmmy. Then we went home. I have to go visit Krispy at Keio sometime next year. Maybe April :)
I got home around 8:30, half an hour late for my tourney, but it worked out okay. I made the drinking one have the orange and violet Ninja Turtle outfits (as a tribute to Sregnir) in the inn and SFing have red and blue in the palace. It was a super-exciting SFing tourney at least. I had a CRAZY close match against Atmaeloy and right after that against Sylvana (who was the other person on board with him). I won them both. I even made it to the finals against Dotte, won my first fight, lost the next 2 and choked. (Which is good, I would have felt bad if I won to be honest.) Atmaeloy and I chatted for a while, he's pretty cool, I hope I see him around sometime since it's been a while.
Anyway, I've been doing laundry and some other stuff around the apartment. I also memmed 3/4 of my last dots left, so now I have every point of the current ocean except one point by Meke. I even know Alpha-Winter now. Fear me.
