I skipped a whole week, didn't I
Even worse, I had started an entry and then lost it when I rebooted my computer. I hate losing a week.
Monday night after my entry I went to a supermarket and hung out for an hour or so, because it was 95 degrees here and supermarkets are airconditioned. Said supermarket had a Jamba Juice and a sushi bar in it so it wasn't all bad.
Tuesday I covered. Visit to Digeo, indecision, etc.
Wednesday, the TMBG concert at the zoo was sold out so I went downtown to see Wizard People, Dear Readers with Casey and his friend Jeff. It was pretty entertaining, and it was actually a live reading, too... basically it's this thing where this guy plays the Harry Potter first movie and reads a fake "book on tape" that he's written. Crazy stuff. Pretty funny overall. I recommend downloading it; it's not as good as the live version but Casey says it's still pretty damn funny.
(Wednesday in PP I finally got my Dear Hammerhead renamed to the Emcee Hammerhead. I also got my red/natural sloop Cheap Tuna renamed to Cheap Tench and gave it to Chernabog as a "cheer up and start speaking to me again already dammit" present. I kinda owed him since he gave me a scimitar anyway.)
Thursday I didn't do much of anything except that I went to Sunset and played some DDR, and I also went to Mori and got tonkatsu/tempura takeout dinner, which was yummy. After that I ended up talking to Serle on PP for a while.. he's in Fukushima and apparently actually met my dorky friend Dave except somehow didn't quite get it across that he was asking about a Deanna in Seattle or somesuch. Ah well. Small world. The weirdest thing about talking to Serle is that like... I don't know him that well but he TOTALLY understands EXACTLY what I'm going through, in a way I don't think anyone else has in a while, so that was cool. We also had the longest OCL match known to man... it was like 2 hours. After my second or third straight day map hunting in Coral, I now have a full set of Coral maps. WOOO! Also it's just been fun getting back into gunning again... I was just sailing around the arch attacking every brigand in my way, shooting them up, etc. Awesomely fun. I should do more gunning and battle nav.
I didn't actually make it to any of the Twins baseball games this week. I overslept on Thursday afternoon, essentially. Just as well, I guess.
Friday is today. I went to Digeo and I signed a contract... it is for an hourly, 6-month contract, instead of a full-time thing, so I can reevaluate in a bit and see whether I want to really be fulltime. I suppose I could have just taken the original offer but I waffled so much they offered me the temp assignment and I decided to go with that. I was partially inspired by cabin fever and partially by going to the bank on Thursday and/or paying bills. Whee. I'm still fine but... eh. I will still be jobhunting in my spare time I'm sure, but it'll be nice to get out of the apartment and get my brain working again, at least, and do some productive work for a few months. Anyway, I did an experiment, since commuting to Kirkland SUCKS. Driving there was 15 miles and took me 45 minutes due to SLOW SLOW TRAFFIC on 520 so I drove up to Lake City Way and down through Bothell/Northgate. That's 18 miles and also takes 40 minutes, but at least you're moving. I stopped at Northgate on the way home and picked up the Sledge Hammer DVD set that's out now, and the new TMBG album. Whee!
Tonight I went to Blue C for dinner. It really bites if you're not sitting at the conveyor belt, seriously. They accidentally almost cleared out my dishes once, and took the book I was reading to lost and found, because I was standing at the belt looking for food. Ugh. After dinner we went and won our OCL brawl match, and then started plotting how the Shopkeepers Of Turtle are going to get together and blockade it to take away from Hades. And then Cherny came online and he's apparently speaking to me again and I'm so happy I could just vomit!
So the upshot is, I'm going to start working at Digeo on August 23rd.
In the meantime, sometime next week I want to drive to either Portland or Vancouver BC. Probly Portland since it's been longer since I've been there. Not sure if I'll do a day job or try to stay over... I should ping some Portland folks and see if they want to do anything.
Oh, and holy fucking crap. If m-flo isn't THE best Japanese rap... nay, the best rap, period, ever, I don't know what is. My god, I get on m-flo kicks sometimes but I swear I've had the Intergalactic Collection in my CD player for most of the week and it's just so incredibly heavenly.

If you haven't already, check out "Astromantic" by m-flo (sans Lisa) which came out recently. It's really great too! Rumi always comments on how his japanese is harder for her to understand than his english.
