Saturday
So we got up on time but didn't get out of here until like 2pm. That's ok.
We went to Blue C Sushi for lunch :) so I finally got to take out Carl (Saben, to you PP people) for his birthday kaitensushi like I said I would. Yay! After that we walked around Fremont for a half hour... I took him to see the troll under I-99 and we walked along the canal for a little bit before driving back here.
Ryan (Farren) showed up here around 4:30 or so, and we all agreed that my apartment was too scuppering hot to hang out in, so the three of us went downstairs along the street... stopped in at Gary's Games where I bought a copy of Aladdin's Dragons finally. Gary's was not airconditioned but Tully's Coffee (under my apartment building) was, so we asked them if it would be ok to bring down some board games and hang out and drink coffee-like drinks and they said sure. So we did! Carl and Ryan and I played a game of Tigris&Euphrates. I won because I took over the sweet corner and nobody messed with me and I ended the game prematurely by taking all the treasures. Then we got out Corsairs. Around this point Brian showed up, and so the four of us played a game of Corsairs, and to be honest I forget who won, but I think it was Carl.
By this point it was past 8pm and Tully's was on the verge of closing, and it wasn't so deadly hot outside anymore, so we came back upstairs, debated for a bit, and I made everyone go to Ivar's with me. We sat outside and as such were in the "whale lounge" thing for "happy hour" so we got CRAZY cheap food. I had no idea Ivar's does this happy hour after 9pm thing... I totally have to go back more for it. A bowl of chowder for $2.95, or fish&chips for $2.95, or other things, totally awesome. Carl got the salmon trio thing that I usually get out of indecision and his salmon preferences are exactly the opposite of mine, go figure.
Anyway, we ended up sitting around talking about baseball and videogames and whatnot at Ivar's until almost 11pm at which point I drove everyone home and then they all went to their respective homes too.
Carl and I hung around here for the rest of the evening. I showed him Chu Chu Rocket. We solved the first 50 puzzles and pretty much left the Special levels to rot because it's sleepytime now.
Jarrod Washburn isn't starting for the Angels tomorrow so I don't feel indebted to go to the game and drag Carl along. (I was all psyched when I saw the game on TV at Ivar's and Brendan Donnelly was pitching though. Dammit, why did I have to miss the game where he and Troy Percival were up? Grumble.) So I'm not sure what we'll do. Probly touristy stuff, depending on weather and whatnot.
