Whoa, a whole weekend went by without me updating

What is odd is that usually I don't update because nothing has happened, but in this case I didn't update because... I don't know why, actually.

So anyway, Friday I didn't really do much. I did go to Blue C alone and grab dinner and then came home and... er... who knows where the evening went. Okay, it went to PP. Whatever.

Saturday, I got up early and ran down to Safeco to trade in my Sunday tickets for a ticket to the Boston game on Tuesday afternoon. Dude. I am so psyched for that.

Then I came back and I entered the Great Big Black Death Swords Tournament. We had 632 people show up for the qualifying rounds!! It was crazy. We had our whole crew on a ship (there were like 30 of us on for it) and I didn't honestly have any problem until the 4th or 5th round. I managed to beat Augi somehow, which is insane since he's REALLY good, and then I faced Ptolemy in the 64-person bracket and lost 0-2. So I didn't make it to the final 32 for the big tourney, but I did make best 64, so I got an extra prize, and felt reasonably good about my performance. After that I tried to help Silverdawg out with scoring for a while, and then realized, crap, it was 5pm.

So I headed over to Nykkel's house, where we were having board games. Nykkel, Farren, DJ, Rumi, and Matt were all there. I hadn't really seen any of them except DJ in about 3 months. Meep. I feel kinda bad about that. I forgot to bring the KR discs but other than that things were okay. We played two games of Cosmic, the first went REALLY quickly (due to Rumi being Schizoid), the second not so much, and I actually won the second game. Jon would be proud of me, I was Mesmer in the second game and in the third one we played after dinner. (Infact Mesmer Warpish in the third game, my two favorite powers) We used a crazy draft system to pick powers the first two games. I kinda liked it but I also kinda didn't, it's hard to explain without explaining the system. I blame Phaedrus.

We all got dinner at the new Pagliacci's that opened up right by the Lake Forest Park exit of I-5, and after dinner Matt and Rumi ducked out, as I said there was a third game of Cosmic and then I got everyone to play Mutiny with me -- it was this little game I picked up at Gamescape in SF -- it was a cute little auction game with a pirate theme, I liked it, even though Farren won :P

Went home after that, played a little PP, went to sleep, etc.

Sunday I woke up and got picked up by Andrew and Linnea and we went to the Mariners game. It was a really exciting game. I am REALLY sad that the Mariners got rid of a lot of people, ESPECIALLY John Olerud, how how how can they get rid of John Olerud? /me cries. I mean, aside from his slow running speed he's a damn shot better than Boone or Spiezio in pure OBP and BA... bleh. So anyway, the excitement of the game was that they called up this Bucky Jacobsen guy from the minors and he just hit the baseballs all over the damn place. Of course he is also pretty big and also pretty slow so I'm still not sure what the upgrade is there, but, hey, whatever. So it was weird because the lineup has been changing so much... Justin Leone is playing now too, I remember having high hopes for him as a draft, so I guess that's good. And Willie Bloomquist may end up as a steady SS or 3B for the rest of the year. But still. Oi. Oh, and Hiram Bocachica game in late in the game and made one of the most amazing catches ever, he was literally like 5 feet above the centerfield wall. And oi, it shoulda been a win for Jamie Moyer, but Hasegawa came in and gave up a home run tying it at 5-5. Then Randy Winn knocked in two runs the next inning making it 7-5 so Shiggy got the win even though technically he shoulda gotten the loss if it happened. I hate the WP rules sometimes.

So I came home after that. Kinda. I took the bus back to Northgate P&R (Andrew and Linnea had to go to the airport so they couldn't give me a ride home). Then I realized... the 5 doesn't run from Northgate on Sundays. Ooooops. So I went to the mall for a little bit, bought some more baseball cards, got a smoothie in the food court, and then went back into the 80-something degree heat and walked 3 miles home from Northgate. I felt pretty yucky and sticky when I got home but I felt pretty good about the exercise, honestly.

Anyway, after that I hung out on PP all evening, first for the Looterati Ladies Looting pillage and then just to talk to people (read: Mike). I did put on some movies in the background though -- Bull Durham, and Strictly Ballroom. Now I really want to go out dancing.

And today is Monday, and I'm heading out to pub quiz in a little. My goal for this week is seriously to get my resume in gear and even maybe write a cover letter, and whatnot. Then there's things like Carl visiting, and then me going to Otakon the week after, and then who knows what... maybe I will head up to Edmonton... maybe not... I still can't decide. Though Amaena says I should totally come visit. Har.
