Tuesday - AI and Angels

Today I did laundry, and then we went to Philly's Best for yummy cheesesteak lunch. Then we went to Arcade Infinity, where I pretty much latched myself to the Pop'n'Music 11 machine and spent 10 bucks worth of tokens playing it for about 2-3 hours. Mmmm, Murmur Twins :) Actually, so I felt bad because Jeff didn't have much to do there, so I played a whole ton of songs from the "anime" part of PNM (so he might be entertained by them), and there were some great ones! Including Sana singing the Maison Ikkoku theme, how cool!

(Arcade Infinity is kind of hard to find at first - it's waaaay off the road in a shopping center)

Played one game of IIDX 10th also, and then we hit the road. My ears were ringing since it was so loud in there, heh.

We went to the Angels stadium, getting there around 5:30... parking is fairly cheap and tickets are even reasonably cheap, wow! So we got 3 tickets and left one at Will-Call for Oren, and then went in and wandered around. I'm wearing a Hasegawa shirt and Jeff's wearing a Moyer shirt, so the guy at the gate's like "Uhoh, Mariners fans, I can't let you guys in here!" Oi. So we walked all over the stadium looking around. Saw many Angels shirts, many Red Sox, and even another Mariners shirt, whee. Got Icees and food and a scorecard, and then game!

It was a seriously exciting game even if it dragged on. Lots and lots of people actually doing stuff like stealing and bunting and hitting home runs and other things I haven't seen at Mariners games in a while. Many people were hit by pitches relatively, and there were a whole bunch of errors and tight spots and whatnot. Manny Ramirez is scary. So is Vladimir Guerrero. A lot of the regulars seem to be disabled (Erstad, Donnelly, Glaus, umm... Garciaparra, etc), so we saw several other players, but they seemed to be filling in fine. At one point both Molina brothers were playing too, which was neat.

Oren left a little early to beat traffic, and we came back here after a while... I stopped in the Team Store and I got a Washburn shirt. (It was cheap!) I wanted a Donnelly shirt since I adore him so, but apparently they don't make shirts of him since he was a strike-breaker in 1994 or something. And the Percival shirts were kinda dumblooking fontwise. So, eh. Washburn is cool too though, he's a great lefty pitcher and much younger than Jamie Moyer... err... or something.

So yeah. The Angels game was really exciting and I enjoyed it a lot. Shame we didn't hit Dodgers or Padres games, but oh well.

We'll be heading back up to the Bay Area tomorrow, whee.
