I'm puzzling, not packing

I hate the night before I travel anywhere. I just get all edgy and don't want to sleep. It's like 6am and I'm just... not sleeping. I have to get up at 8am to shower and change and get picked up to go on a plane and all. Bleh.

Today I had work, and after work Eli and I went to Uwajimaya so I could pick up the PNM Christmas CD that [personal profile] mightyflorist ordered for me. It was, to say the least, interesting, but woefully short. I got some last-minute family Christmas presents and some Thai food for dinner.

After that we went to Cap Hill to visit [personal profile] drakemonger and the [community profile] divinemisso. I spent most of my time there talking to Sean and playing with Nicholas and Pushkin, two of the cats that live there. One of them cuddled up to me and Eli on the couch and wouldn't let us go. If we went away, he would come up and put his paws up on one of our thighs and meow. I like cats. I kept joking that I was going to steal a cat and bring it home with me...

We came home, and I was supposed to pack, but I played Puzzle Pirates and did laundry. Infact, I've been off and on packing and playing PP all evening, pretty much. Ordered a ton of clothes in PP that should be ready sometime between now and when I get back. I did some pillaging with my crew, then some hanging out, then I helped Rudder Revolution move a bunch of ships (I gotta say, I got paid around 1400 total for basically getting Incredibles on carp for four Epsilon-Guava trips. Much better than the navy, and better company!) Hung out on the docks talking to people while I packed some more. Lots of people said stuff like "hang in there, a week without PP won't kill you", it was pretty funny. I won a few random swordfights on the docks, so now I'm at GM for that. Arrr.

Something that's bugging me about the book "The Glory of Their Times" is that it's SO DAMNED GOOD. So on the one hand I love it because it's so damned good I want to keep reading and reading but I hate it because it's so damned good I'm going to be in tears when it ends and I have no more of it to read. I wish there were more books I felt like that towards these days.

Oh well, I think I'm going to collapse for an hour or so. Maybe I'll phone post from the Minneapolis airport if I'm bored.

Oh yeah, I also made a bunch more puzzle pirates LJ icons.
