I really should learn to log out of PP and go to sleep one of these days.
Anyway, Josh and Megan and Eli and I went out to dinner tonight together, which was good fun. We went to a brew pub in east Greenlake which was... eh, I shouldn't have gotten fish and chips, I'm such an idiot. Next time we're going for wings. We went back to M+J's house and played a board game called Corsairs. I think it was a neat game, except, no joke, we got into a rum deadlock and so the game took forever. Still, everyone keeps humoring me with the pirate themes. Good stuff.
Played PP after because my stomach hurt and I didn't think I could get to sleep... the network was sucking so I called the ISP and whined. They said "Oh, the phone company tested your line and OH MY GOD DOES IT SUCK, you have some sort of breakage between you and the central office," so I'm like "okay, so now what?" "Oh, we'll have someone out there on Monday or Tuesday to fix it." "THAT LONG?" "Yeah, they don't work weekends." "SCUP!"
okay, not exactly, but you get the idea. Upshot is... maybe at least they'll fix it. And they said they'd refund our 2 weeks of sucky network.
PP was good because my network sucked, I sat around on the docks chatting and swordfighting. I lost a lot of swordfights, but it's ok. Went pillaging with a random crew 'cause one of the circle people invited me. It was okay, I got a decent chunk of money, but it was annoying because they were all pretty immature on board. I've begun to notice that a good litmus test for me is to crack one of my smartass jokes - if people laugh, they're going to be good to sail with. If not, they're not. (Still, I was pretty proud of quipping, "They're gettin' briggy with it!" when one of the guys said "wtf ARE the brigands doing?") I guess the fact that the captain kept calling my outfit "Janthina's gay rainbow brite suit" and whatnot shoulda been a tipoff though.
Wandered around solo a little. Sailing's up to Grand-Master now, and I have exactly 30,001 POE, minus transfer fees of course. Har!
